Barry Ferguson unsure of Scotland comeback

Postby craig » Mon Feb 08, 2010 8:23 pm

Barry Ferguson said: "As soon as Craig got announced as Scotland manager I said he was the right man for the job. He is the only guy I would probably consider coming back to play for.

"As I said, I am nowhere near a decision and I need to sit down and go through a lot of things.

"If it means I go away and come back, and I'm not going to play here well, there is no chance of me going back. There is still loads to discuss.

"But the meetings were good and he is a guy I respect and he has given me time to go away and think about it.

"There are loads of things I have to take into consideration and I have to be honest with the gaffer (McLeish) as well.

"He has given me a platform to come down here and play. I've not had a long chat with him yet. I need to sit down and see what his thoughts are."

The way he is playing, i hope he does come back

I can see where you're coming from Craig, by all accounts he's playing very well in the Premiership, but he should either know whether he wants to play now, Levein has got to start preparing his team now, not in 4 months time, when the 1st qualifiers are just round the corner.

I just feel that Ferguson's time has come and gone and that we should be moving on!!!

Come on Scotland!!!!!

I think it's time to look towards building a squad for the future, I can't see Ferguson being a part of that. Fair play to the guy he's played his part for Scotland in the past but not sure he's got the engine for club & international commitments now.

Agreed. I think we should experiment with some of our SPL CM players. Stephen McGinn for St.Mirren is good. Bit of a long shot but he's a good wee player.
Or, I spotted a boy in the championship down in England, Paul Coutts, great wee player, and Scottish
why no eh ;)

Ferguson should concentrate on playing for Birmingham. His heart clearly isn't with the Scotland cause so good riddance. As a Rangers fan it pains me to say this.
