Do You Follow Your Local Team?

Postby PaulBand » Mon Mar 01, 2010 5:32 pm

Just curious really, but we all have our celtic/rangers preference or another big team. My local team is East Fife and I don't follow them although my other closest team is Raith Rovers, who I do follow having played in their youth system for a bit. Used to get into games free and get good seats so why no take advantage eh ;)
Does anyone else attend their local teams game if they don't go to their own?

I've supported United (who I have a season ticket for) since I was about 6, but my local team is Raith - who I go to see every other week, when I can't get to a United away game. My old man is a Rovers diehard, so I go with him. I like to think I'm helping out my local team financially. :) I was there on the last day of their season last year when they won the league, so I was proud of that.

I am a Pars fan and nothing else. I do watch the SPL closely but it isn't as close this year. Hibs are not bad from a neutral point of view, but really I can't see past Dunfermline. Last season I did find the lack of quality at East End offensive, but they are a bit better this season.

I don't support my local team where I live now but, still support the team from the town in which I grew up.

Although Clyde do play now in Cumbernauld I only go to about 4 or 5 games a season at Broadwood...Airdire would be my "closest" team (then Albion Roves and Stirling Albion) but Celtic Park is only about 15 miles away, so maybe I do support my "local" team after all...I do go to a handful of Junior games though..Cumbernauld Utd

Clyde were my local team. I was born just a stones throw from Shawfield so I always followed them. My brother didnae fancy them so he chose Celtic which was the next closest ground. Good choices for guys from Bridgeton, a predominantly Rangers supporting area
Stopped following Clyde a few years back for a number of reasons and now just go to watch Scotland, which is eqully as painful

My local team is Queens park. However my dad supported the Gers as did his dad before him so thats where my loyalties lie. When Murray sells us to the forces of darkness i will probably go and watch Rutherglen Glencairn.
