Scottish Football Forums is proud to announce a newly formed partnership with Fife community club, Glenrothes Strollers F.C., with the forum agreeing to a kit sponsorship deal for their girl’s Under 11’s team.

The Fifers were recent award winners of the McDonald’s and The Sunday Mail’s Best Grassroots Community Club award, presented to them by Craig Levein and Kenny Dalglish at the awards dinner at Hampden Park in February of this year.

In recognition of their achievements in helping improve grassroots football in Scotland, The Strollers were also featured in the March edition of UEFA Direct – a monthly magazine produced by the European footballing body with foreword by UEFA President, Michel Platini.

Scottish Football Forums owner, Craig Adey, had this to say on the new deal “Glenrothes Strollers were recent award winners for their commitment in helping improve the standards of grassroots football in Scotland, so it’s an honor for us to be able to be part of this.

“With football being so important in my own life, I welcomed the chance to sponsor the girls team. Financially, times are tough, so to be able to help out with such a respected community club is just great.

“The work that Glenrothes Strollers do for their local footballing community is invaluable, therefore I am pleased to help in any way I can.”

Glenrothes Strollers have a number of teams under their umbrella, from the kids team, The Young Strollers – where players as young as four and five take part – right up to a newly formed men’s Amateur team. The girl’s Under 11’s team has been running since June, 2010, and is growing all the time under the watchful eye of team coach and founder, Fiona Robertson.

“I would like to thank Scottish Football Forums for their support and sponsorship of our girl’s team” said Robertson

“It has been a hectic year for us setting up the girl’s section of the club, but it is something I am very passionate about. The number of girl’s teams in Scotland is steadily rising and they are becoming a very important part of Scottish football.

“Scottish Football Forums sponsorship of our new kit is a massive boost as it can be difficult to fund such equipment without outside help. We are extremely grateful of any financial help we can get in order to give kids a chance in football.”

If you live in Fife or the surrounding area and are interested in playing for the club, or know someone who might be, please visit the club’s website for more details:
