Best Bet Roundup 22/10/2014

In an attempt to harness the vast resources of the internet this semi-regular post will roundup the opinions of various online betting tipsters with a view to providing a one-stop shop for some of the better value bets out there. In addition I’ll give my own thoughts on what I fancy backing and each post I’ll highlight my best bet pick, it might be one of my own choices or I might go with one of the experts, but it will be a bet I’ll be backing with my own money.

Disclaimer : I’m no expert, like many I enjoy a small punt every now and again and hope, over the course of the season, to turn a modest profit. There are no guarantee’s however so only stake what you can afford to lose, this is intended as a bit of fun rather than an alternative income source. If you think you have a better pick then feel free to chip in via the comments or forum, the more winning tips the better.

Champions League

There’s a clutch of games in tonight’s Champions League, the pick of the best bets are shown below.

Galatasaray v Borussia Dortmund

Dortmund are on a honking run of form, currently sitting 14th in the Bundesliga they are desperately short of confidence and won’t relish an away trip to Turkey. Galatasaray have had a decent start to the season, sitting in the top half of the table they come off the back of a domestic run of 3 wins. The boys from welovebetting go into more detail re. Dortmund and it’s from there my first value bet is based. Galatasaray look way over priced to win at home with 7/2 generally available if you fancy taking a punt. It’s the double chance option which catches the eye here at evens though if like me you think Dortmund will struggle to claim a victory tonight.

Liverpool v Real Madrid

Los Blancos travel to Merseyside to take on Brendan Rodgers Liverpool side on a night which is sure to have the romantics reaching for the tissues as two of Europe’s legendary clubs meet again in the iconic surroundings of Anfield. Liverpool will be without the injured Sturridge and it’ll be interesting to see if Rodgers goes with the temperamental talents of Balloteli. Madrid meanwhile are without Bale and Ramos turning up the pressure on their talismanic hitman Christiano Ronaldo to provide the firepower and it’s here I think there is money to be made. Ronny is listed generally at slightly odds-on to score anytime, Madrid are goal daft at the moment having notched up 30 domestic strikes and their star man has scored in his last 10 games for club and country. Given Liverpool’s stuttering performance against the EPL dopes QPR it seems inconceivable that they will keep a clean sheet tonight.

Ronaldo to score anytime 17/20 at McBookie

I think there is cracking value in the Galatasaray game where I might have a small flutter but I’m playing it safe and backing Ronaldo anytime as my main value bet.

Ronaldo to score anytime jumps out as good value to me. Liverpool have leaked an average of 1.5 goals per game in the Premier League, and I would expect that trend to continue tonight. Ronaldo’s record in the Champions League is 2 in 2 this season and his league record is slightly more than 2 goals per game. It all points to him scoring tonight.

Ronaldo to score anytime was a good bet. I also took Real Madrid, so it was looking like a good night for me. Unfortunately I went for Galatasaray and accidentally added it in as doubles. I ended up back where I started at the beginning of the night. I must check my betting slip a little more closely next time.

A good start for the Best Bet column with my pick of Ronaldo anytime landing, the less said about Galatasary the better. Maybe a lesson there that the bookies rarely get the prices that wrong.
